Intermediate Handover in Hainan SBC Plant.

Good news! The SBC project with an annual output of 170,000 MT of Hainan Baling was handed over smoothly !

On December 26, 2022, the "double key" construction project of Sinopec and Hainan Province—Hainan Baling Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd’s annual production of 170,000 MT of styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer project (referred to as Hainan Baling SBC project) has been completed successfully realized the intermediate handover and entered the production preparation stage in an all-round way .

At present, all parties who participating in the construction are stepping up to complete the construction tasks of the final project and promote the joint test running and material feeding test run of the project. It is expected to be put into production in late February 2023 .

The project is located in the petrochemical functional area of Hainan Yangpu Development Zone, which is located in the southeast of the Hainan Refining and Chemical Ethylene Project. Adopting Baling Petrochemical's green environmental protection complete set of production technology with independent intellectual property rights,it includes a set of SBS with an annual output of 120,000 MT and a set of SEBS with an annual output of 50,000 MT. And there’re 4 SBS production lines and 2 SEBS production lines .

Since the project started in September 2021, it has faced formidable challenges which from  raw material price’s rising, typhoons and epidemics. With the local government’s surpport, all parties who participate in the construction adhere to the principle of "A game of chess, A heart, A strength, a family, working together to achieve great things", through party builds and joint construction to overcome difficulties, steadily promote the safe and high-quality construction of the project to ensure that the project closely follows the pace of Hainan million-ton ethylene project delivery on schedule.

On December 26 2022, the Hainan Baling SBS project successfully realized the intermediate handover and fully entered the production preparation stage .
