SEBS YH-502T is a linear styrene–ethylene–butylene–styrene thermoplastic elastomer designed to offer a balanced combination of mechanical performance, processability, and optical clarity. Owing to its moderate molecular weight and optimized styrene content, YH-502T is widely used as a versatile modifier in TPE/TPR systems as well as in polyolefin toughening applications.
It is particularly suitable for formulations where cost efficiency, ease of processing, and compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements are key considerations.
Linear SEBS structure with flexible molecular segments, contributing to smooth melt flow and stable processing behavior during injection molding and extrusion.
Medium-low molecular weight, enabling a favorable balance between mechanical strength and melt fluidity.
Styrene content ~30%, providing adequate elasticity while maintaining sufficient rigidity and dimensional stability.
Toluene viscosity (10 wt%, 25 °C): 150–250 mPa·s, supporting good dispersion and flow performance in compounding and molding processes.
High optical transparency, making it suitable for clear or light-colored end products.
TPE floor mats & resistance bands
YH-502T can be blended with higher-molecular-weight SEBS grades (e.g. YH-604T) at a typical ratio of 30:70. This approach improves melt flow while maintaining elasticity and rebound performance, making it suitable for large-part molding and extrusion applications.
TPE data cables & earphone wires
When combined with SEBS grades such as YH-503T, YH-502T helps reduce processing temperatures (typically 160–190 °C) and improves surface appearance by minimizing flow marks and melt fracture.
Transparent PP packaging
The addition of 10–15 wt% YH-502T can significantly enhance impact resistance while maintaining good transparency, making it suitable for clear packaging, household items, and selected medical or consumer applications.
Agricultural films
In LDPE-based formulations, YH-502T improves elongation at break and low-temperature flexibility. Typical blends demonstrate enhanced toughness and reduced brittleness under sub-zero conditions.
Compatibility and surface quality
YH-502T exhibits good compatibility with PP and PE in melt blending, contributing to uniform morphology and smooth surface finish in finished products.
TPR shoe soles
In combination with SBS, fillers, and processing oils, YH-502T contributes to improved abrasion resistance, flexibility, and processing stability, meeting common footwear performance requirements.
Pet and consumer soft-touch products
YH-502T can be incorporated into formulations for soft, elastic consumer goods. Final regulatory compliance (e.g. food-contact or pet-use standards) depends on the complete formulation and must be validated by the finished product manufacturer.
With its balanced mechanical properties, excellent processability, and broad compatibility with elastomer and polyolefin systems, SEBS YH-502T serves as a highly adaptable modifier across TPEs, PP/PE blends, and a wide range of soft-touch consumer products.
